Specialist support that understands the emotional realities of stepfamily life.
Back In Control - COMING SPRING '26
A 6-Week Live Programme for Stepmums Who Are Done Walking on Eggshells and feeling out of control of their lives!
If you are exhausted from managing everyone else’s emotions…
If you overthink every message…
If you’re constantly adjusting yourself to keep the peace…
This programme is about getting back in control of your response.
Not control of the ex.
Not control of the system.
Control of you.
If one message can derail your whole week…
If you replay conversations in your head for hours…
If you feel responsible for keeping everything stable…
If you struggle to hold boundaries without guilt…
You are not dramatic. You are overextended and operating in a system which isn't protecting you.
Back in Control is a structured 6-week live programme designed to help you:
• Stop walking on eggshells
• Reduce overthinking and emotional spiralling
• Hold clear boundaries without escalating conflict
• Feel steady and self-led inside stepfamily dynamics
This is not about changing anyone else. It’s about changing how it lands in you.
This Is For Stepmums Who
-
Feel emotionally consumed by stepfamily dynamics
-
Notice anxiety before handovers, contact or court updates
-
Absorb tension to keep the peace
-
Overfunction in order to feel safe or prove their worth
-
Walk on eggshells or second guess themselves
-
Want to see all the messages but feel worse after seeing them!
You do not need to be in crisis.
You do need to be ready to take responsibility for your response.
You'll also connect with other like minded women along the way and form support groups that go beyond this programme.
What We Work On Together
Back In Control consists of six focused 90min sessions.
The session content will follow the broad pattern below, although slightly tailored depending on group dynamics.
Week 1 – Why You’re Walking on Eggshells
We identify your activation patterns.
• What actually triggers you
• Why it feels so intense
• The link between uncertainty and overfunctioning
You’ll leave understanding your patterns instead of judging them.
Week 2 – The Control Shift
You’ll learn to separate:
• What is yours to manage
• What is not yours to carry
We’ll use the Influence Gap framework to reduce mental load immediately.
Week 3 – Stopping the Spiral
Practical tools to:
• Interrupt overthinking
• Regulate in real time
• Prevent one message costing you a week
Simple, repeatable techniques you can use immediately.
Week 4 - Boundaries without Guilt
We’ll focus on:
• Why you over-explain
• Why you soften boundaries
• How to hold firm without escalating
Clear, calm, contained responses.
Week 5 - Ending Overfunctioning
This week addresses:
• Emotional over-responsibility
• Fixing behaviour
• Carrying tension that isn’t yours
You’ll practise stepping back without feeling negligent.
Week 6 - Holding Steady Long Term
We consolidate:
• New response patterns
• Clear internal boundaries
• A personalised “steady plan” for future triggers
So you leave feeling equipped, not dependent.

Sophie, Leeds
Handover days used to make me feel sick.
I’d spend hours rehearsing conversations and anticipating drama.
I still care, but I don’t live in fight-or-flight anymore. I finally understand what’s mine and what isn’t.
Lily, Guildford
One message from my partner’s ex used to ruin my week. I’d read it over and over, feel sick, and then it'd affect me for days.
Her messages are still annoying but it doesn’t spiral anymore and I can bounce back much faster using the tools Katie shared.
