@ebell350 Thank you. I was thinking that it may be good to speak to some outside of my circle. I’ve just been prescribed with anxiety medication which has helped and they are referring me to a Talking Therapy scheme. I know it sounds awful, it’s just that I have lived with her and know that how she is with me in front of her dad and nana is an act. When we’re alone or I message her privately about something relating to her dad, she ignores me. it’s hard to like someone who doesn’t like you back. it’s just the way it is I suppose. We only see her once a month these days so not as bad as it was.

@stepmumspace Thank you. No, not yet. She’s still very jeal and manipulative (spoilt my birthday party last month as she didn’t like me and her dad dancing togethe). I’m civil, she’s civil and that’s all we can do at the moment. In all honesty, I don’t think she’s ever really going to accept me. But I don’t take it personally as she’s like this with everyone.

@Honey Alice It’s tricky isn’t it? Keep at it hun. My experience is that they don’t like being the disciplinarian and would rather the SM do it. I always said that it wasn’t my job to do that, but if he did it I’d be stood by his side supporting him so he wasn’t alone. I get why mine did it too, but they’re adults now and he knows he did the wrong thing as they don’t respect him like they should. He acted like their friend, rather than their dad x

my top tip. Don’t go in heavy handed. Drop hints, give subtle tips on how he could handle situations differently etc. Mine explained why he did it and I understood. But he also understoo that I couldn’t live in Disneyland x
